Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk opening delayed The Northwest Indiana Times (10/6) Last month's torrential rains have caused a delay in the grand opening of Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk. Too much damage had been caused by the heavy rains, flooding and debris that landed on the lakefront to meet the grand opening scheduled for Oct. 16.

Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant Focuses on invasive species, aquaculture, fisheries, the future of communities that border southern Lake Michigan, and other issues that affect the coast through K-12 education, research and outreach projects.
Lake Michigan Committee Great Lakes Fishery Commission The committee considers fishery issues of common concern, develops joint programs and research projects and serves as a forum for management agencies.
Lake Michigan Forum The Lake Michigan Forum was established as part of the Lake Michigan Lakewide Management Plan (LaMP) as the central vehicle for stakeholder participation in developing and implementing the LaMP. Check here for information about the Lake Michigan LaMP.
Lake Michigan Partner Network Alliance for the Great Lakes The Lake Michigan Federation coordinates a Partner Network of more than 100 grassroots and regional organizations from around Lake Michigan focused on restoring and maintaining the land and waters that feed into the lake.
Michigan Sea Grant National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) A partnership between the University of Michigan and Michigan State University to promote the understanding and intelligent use of the Great Lakes.
University of Wisconsin Sea Grant A statewide program of basic and applied research, education and technology transfer dedicated to the wise stewardship and sustainable use of Great lakes and ocean resources.
