The Illinois Fish Contaminant Monitoring Program (IFCMP) has established fish advisories for certain bodies of water in the state.

Includes meal advice for eating sport fish from Illinois waters.

INDIANA
Angling Indiana: Fish Consumption Advisory
Includes a clickable map of fish advisories by county, as well as tips on fish preparation, nutrient content and related health risks.

Indiana Fish Consumption Advisory

Three state agencies annually publish the fish consumption advisory, which provides Hoosier anglers with health information about eating sport caught fish from Indiana waters.

MICHIGAN
Michigan Fish Advisory
Michigan Department of Community Health
Michigan began its fish advisory program in the 1970s. Special attention is paid to pregnant women, nursing mothers, women who intend to have children and young children. Unborn children and young children are especially sensitive to chemicals that build up in fish over time. Michigan’s advisory for sport fish is more strict than the regulations used by the federal government for fish sold in supermarkets.

MINNESOTA
Fish Consumption Advice
Minnesota Department of Health
Provides advice on how often fish can safely be eaten, especially by at-risk populations including children and women of child-bearing age. Also features detailed, site-specific advice for lakes and rivers where fish have been tested.

NEW YORK
Health Advisories: Chemicals in Sportfish and Game
New York State Department of Health
Recommendations are based on evaluation of contaminant levels in fish and shellfish.

OHIO
Ohio Fish Consumption Advisory
Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
Here you will find information on fish consumption advisories issued by the Ohio Department of Health for sport fish caught in Ohio waters.

ONTARIO
Guide to Eating Ontario Sport Fish
Ontario Ministry of the Environment
This biennial guide contains important information on consumption of sport fish from Ontario waters for both the general population and the sensitive population of women of child-bearing age and children under 15.

PENNSYLVANIA
Pennsylvania Public Health Advisory - Fish Consumption
Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP)
These consumption advisories provide guidance to individuals or segments of the population at greater risk from exposure to contaminants in fish.
