Officials: White Lake to be first Area of Concern in Michigan removed from list this summer

Local, state and national officials confirmed at a meeting on Jan. 22 that White Lake should be removed from the Great Lakes Area of Concern list by the summer of 2014. It would become the first of 14 AOCs in Michigan to be removed from the list and only the second of 43 nationwide.
