West Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission The commission conducts areawide planning and provides technical assistance to local governments. West Michigan Shoreline Regional Development Commission The commission is a five county regional development agency, promoting and fostering development through regional cooperation.

Northeast-Midwest Institute The Institute is a policy research center providing staff support to the House and Senate Great Lakes Task Forces. Policy research focuses on invasive species, ecosystem restoration, island conservation, water management, brownfield redevelopment, economic benefits of sediment remediation, energy, and other issues important to the Great Lakes.
