Steering Committee, Now that the RAPIDS software redesign is beginning to move forward more quickly, there will likely be many design documents and other messages and files moving around on this topic. To help accommodate this, we've set up an internet message board that allows users to post messages and attach files. This has some advantages to the traditional email list and I think it will be useful to assist in group communication and we begin designing and programming the next version of the RAPIDS software. Instructions for getting to the site and using it are attached and are also posted on the site itself. http://glin.net/forum/index.php?bn=glad_rapids This should allow our group to share a large amount of files and messages without overburdening people's email boxes with emails and attachments. Comments on a particular file can be posted as replies and kept within a message "string" so that they are easier to find than by searching through your email program. In addition, it allows for exchange of messages between a small group, while allowing everyone to see that information if they'd like to or access it at a later time. For now, I'd like to use this messageboard primarily for the RAPIDS design work. If it seems useful, we can adapt it to handle other tasks also. Of course, the group email, Airtoxics@great-lakes.net is still functioning and should be used for other group communications. In particular, the email route is best for information you'd like to get to people quickly or that you'd like to be sure everyone sees. Let me know if you have any questions. ______________________ Jon Dettling Great Lakes Commission 734-971-9135 dettling@glc.org
