Hi, Rich,
The GLC states are doing a study on 2002 benzo(a)pyrene emissions. Many states adopted emissions from NEI and obtained benzo(a)pyrene emissions from onroad mobile sources. We run MOBILE 6 and estimated HAP emissions followed EPA’s methodology and didn’t get benzo(a)pyrene emissions. I checked the documentation at ftp://ftp.epa.gov/EmisInventory/finalnei99ver3/haps/documentation/onroad/nei_onroad_jan04.pdf
On Page 90, it states that “Factors for PAH emissions were provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Office of Transportation and Air Quality (OTAQ). The EPA recommended that the factors given as a fraction of PM10 be used instead of the VMT based factors (Cook, 2001).”
A table lists emission factors for benzo(a)pyrene with a Contam Code, 192972. However, the Cas number for benzo(a)pyrene is 50328. The Cas number 192972 is corresponding to benzo(e)pyrene. Could you let me know which chemical you really mean in the table? Thanks.
