Emissions Inventory Conference Call Minutes - March 21, 2007

Steering Committee,

Minutes from last week’s (brief) call are below. Our next call will be on April 12th (a Thursday) at 2pm EDT.

I’ve talked to Mark and he is doing fine. His son had an emergency that he was attending to. He anticipates having much to present at the call on the 12th.

Finally, please remember if you haven’t yet done so to send a table containing the emission factors in your state system by SCC by this Wednesday.

All the best,

Jon

May meeting

Jon sent a first draft of the agenda for the May meeting in Madison, Wisconsin. Orlando inquired whether there were any questions regarding traveling to the meeting. Dennis asked which of the bus stops within Madison was most convenient. Orlando said that Memorial Union Station would make most sense. Orlando also recommended looking for flights to Milwaukee if a flight to Madison is expensive from your departure location

Regarding the agenda, the senior staff in WDNR are out of the office the days of the meeting, so there won't be anyone to give a formal welcoming on behalf of the department. Also, the online reporting system has a video demo up on the web and people can look at this on their own. This item can be removed, although the demo of their emission inventory system can be kept.

Chun Yi asked about the Wiki portion of the agenda and what this is. Jon responded that this is a website for the project he is working to set up that will hopefully provide some useful functionality to the group for managing documents and information. In short, the software allows any user to edit the information on the website directly through their web browser. There are also features for managing file attachments and mail. This may replace a number of other project resources, such as the FTP site and portions of the project website as ways to disseminate information and keep track of project documents.

Cong asked whether there was coverage of the RAPIDS programming. It is currently on the agenda to 2 hours on the morning of the second day. Jon noted that much of the last meeting was devoted to this and much of the next one probably will be also. For this meeting, there was an attempt to devote more of the agenda to other group tasks, such as the emission factor comparison and discussion of the 2005 inventory, etc.

Tom asked about the area source methodology item on the agenda: what will be covered here? Orlando responded that this will be a good opportunity to revisit this discussion following the discussion on emission factors to determine what information may need to be incorporated into the methodologies or other changes that may need to be made.

The next call will be on April 12th (Thursday) at 2pm EDT.
