I participated in the NEI Task Force Conference Call yesterday.
I learned some EPA re-engineering work that would have impact on RAPIDS3
development.
- EPA will not update NIF 3.0 format to include new
fields required by the re-engineered NEI. The NIF to XML converter
will only work for the existing NIF 3.0.
- EPA will release a pollutant code table in two
weeks. They need emissions for elemental metals instead of emissions
for individual metal compounds. This is different from EPA’s previous
instruction. They will provide a conversion table for mapping and
converting metal compounds to elemental metals. Chromium VI
and chromium III will be listed separately.
It will be interesting to see what EPA’s codes for PAH, POM, and
dioxins.
Should we discuss the impact of
these two items at the next conference call?
