Steering Committee,

One thing I’d like to bring up on today’s call is the prospect of doing something additional in the 2005 report beyond what has been in past reports. This is to report the emissions based on the Great Lakes basin in which they occur. The recently developed modeling tool under the GLAD program (http://glad.syrres.com) that we talked about several months ago would also allow us to go further and include an estimate of the amount of chemical concentration in each basin that would be caused  by the emissions. These are two separate options. We have tables of the percent of counties/districts in each watershed that would make the first rather easy. The second would require running the online model about 1000 times (of which I’ve done 50 already as a trial) and would take some additional effort on the GLC part to put together. Examples of the idea are shown in the attachment. Generating the images would take some additional work, but there may be a way to automate it.

In any case, I’d like to get your input on these ideas.

Jon
