PostgreSQL Installation

To All,

The instructions and setup files for installing PostgreSQL 8.2.7 are now
posted on the RAPIDS Development Wiki.  I had a little trouble uploading the
zip file to the Wiki, but it seems to be there now.  It's approx. 41 MB for
download.  The location is:

I also included the rapids_dev04 database installation, for testing
purposes.  That database may be modified at any time, but it's current, for
now.  After the beta phase, the "_devXX" designation will be removed from
the database name, and it will just be "rapids".

Would anyone like to have a short Webex conference to go through this or get
more in-depth information?  This part of the system has a lot of depth to it
that can't easily be covered in the installation documents.  Let me know if
that sounds like it might be helpful.

Based on what I went through during the testing for this, it looks like the
application software piece for the first beta will ready by about this time
next week.  So be looking for another post from me in about a week.
