I will be sending you directions to the Center with the general annoucement. It is not far from the bottom foreground of the picture that accompanies the enclosed call for abstracts. We will also send you more details on the agenda, guest speakers and information on accepted presentations.
We are talking to Judy Beck, Holly Wirick and Rick Hoffman about coordinating related meetings of interests for travel convenience and economy. At present, the meeting will be divided into three parts: 1) morning policy/programatic session, 2) lunch business meeting and 3) technical/scientific session. There will be a general annoucement later but I wanted to get this call for abstracts to you ASAP. Note that we need the abstracts in by Sept. 15 so we can make a decisions on logistics and presentation format. If we get a good response, we will need to have mostly a poster sessions since oral presentations would be imposible to do in a single afternoon session. Sheridan Haack will chair the technical session and Holly Wirick, the programatic session. There is no registration fee for the program. The City of Chicago, Chicago Park District, City of Gary and EPA has been very kind to offer direct or in-kind support of the meeting. We are open to organizations willing to help financially or in-kind to make this meeting successful and enjoyable..
