Michigan Environmental Health Association (MEHA) Announces the
2003 Recreational Waters Conference

The focus of the conference is bathing beaches, swimming pools, and
spas. Some of the beach topics include
Water pollution, microbiology, waterborne diseases and public

The Beach Water Monitoring Program for Muskegon (Vicki Webster,
Environmental Health Supervisor, Muskegon County)
A review of new beach monitoring and notification requirements in
Michigan and the MDEQ Beach Web Site (Shannon Briggs, Michigan

Beach sand is a reservoir of harmful bacteria (Elizabeth Alm, Central
