Once again, the Annual Great Lakes Beach Meeting was a productive conference--and we had a great time. Thank you for your participation! Some of the suggestions that came from the beach health workshop last Friday included requests for resources like the attached items. Please note that these resources may need to be modified according to your different needs or beach program requirements. It is likely that these resources and others will be created and updated by members of the Great Lakes Beach Association (including staff from federal agencies). More information about this is coming. Meantime, please feel free to use the attachments. Also, please consider posting resources on beachnet that you find helpful. Attached are four files: 1. DEVELOPING A BATHING BEACH MONITORING PROGRAM written by Gary White from the Macomb County Health Department. 2. Dune/Sand Stabilization BMPs 3. Infiltration BMPs other BMPs are available at http://www.michigan.gov/deq/0,1607,7-135-3313_3682_3714-118554--,00.html 4. The fourth attachment is a form from an access database that organizes beach data when samples are collected. Jeff Reicherts is the contact person for this form and he volunteered his contact information if you have questions.
