Thank you for your time and interest in sanitary surveys.
This is a request for information about the costs and need of sanitary surveys for coastal beaches. The EPA is being asked to outline how existing programs support actions in the Great Lakes Regional Collaboration strategy in preparation for Summit II, and David Rockwell (of the Coastal Health Team) has been charged with puttinng together a program design regarding sanitary surveys.
The information is needed by COB on Friday (November 25th). Please send any questions or responses directly to David Rockwell Rockwell.David@epamail.epa.gov
Question: How much does a sanitary survey cost . i.e. (low end, high end, usual cost)?
Question: How many beaches are needing sanitary surveys that have not had a sanitary survey done?
(823 total beaches from the 2004 survey but 593 were open the entire swimming season so ~240 beaches are candidates for sanitary surveys)
Thank you for your input.
