Hi Richard:
I was hoping to place the following announcement on the listserve concerning
the IAGLR 2006 session about pathogens in the Great Lakes:
The International Association for Great Lakes Research invites you to participate
in the 49th Annual Conference on Great Lakes Research, to be held May 22-26,
2006, at the University of Windsor in Windsor, Ontario. Abstract submissions
for oral presentations are now being accepted for the session:
Environmental Pathogens and Their Link to the Great Lakes (Session 36)
The purpose of this session will be to discuss detection, transport, survival
and impact of pathogens relevant to human health in the context of the
Great Lakes. In addition to currently recognized organisms of interest
(e.g. coliform bacteria), we encourage presentations addressing emerging
pathogens (e.g. Staphylococcus spp.), vectors (e.g. drainage ditches, runoff)
and habitats (e.g. beach sand).
All interested persons are invited to submit abstracts for consideration.
Abstract Submission will be open through January 6th 2006. Authors
will be notified of abstract acceptance in late January-early February
2006.
To submit an abstract or to find further information about IAGLR 2006 please
visit:
http://www.iaglr.org/conference/2006/
All oral presentations will be scheduled for Tuesday, May 23, through Friday,
May 26 and will be limited to 15 minutes, followed by a 5-minute question/discussion
period.
Please let me know what I need to do to facilitate the posting.
Thanks,
Von Sigler
