Training 6/8/06: beach water samples & analysis (E. coli)

Please see the attached announcement for a training opportunity sponsored by Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene, Minnesota Department of Health, and National Laboratory Training Network (NLTN):

E. coli Detection in Beach Water Samples
Thursday, June 8, 2006
Audio Conference 1:00 to 2:00 p, ET

Continuing education credits will be provided.

Each site that registers for NLTN's June 8th audio-conference will
receive 3 CDs; they contain lots of helpful hints and several
video-clips to demonstrate proper techniques. The CDs were produced by
the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene and are titled:

1. Collecting Beach Water Samples for E. coli (brand new!)
2. E. coli Detection in Beach Water Samples
3. Lab Resources for E. coli Detection in Beach Water Samples

For the audio-conference, the participants only need a telephone line.
A powerpoint presentation will be posted on the NLTN website a few days
before June 8th. Participants can either download the powerpoint
beforehand and print a handout, or they can choose to project the
powerpoint on a computer screen and advance the slides when the speaker
prompts them.

Also, Minnesota Department of Health (Dr. Liao) would be grateful for any assistance in disseminating the attached PDF file, which is the NLTN brochure for the "E. coli Detection in Beach Water Samples" presentation. Please feel free to contact her with your suggestions and advice. Especially after June 8th, she would be grateful for feedback from you and other participants so that they can improve the training materials. They hope to produce new and improved training materials in the next 2 or 3 years and welcome any advice.

Thanks for your kind attention.
