BEACHNET==> Postdoctoral Position: E. coli - Plant Interactions

Postdoctoral Position

E. coli-Plant Interactions

A Postdoctoral Associate position is immediately available to study
molecular interactions of E. coli and plants. The research will focus
on the use of microarray, gene probe, and FISH technologies to
examine the interaction of E. coli with plant roots and leaf
surfaces. We are specifically interested in examining bacterial genes
involved in colonization and invasion of plants tissues, and those
involved in growth and persistence in the phyllosphere and
rhizosphere. Appointment is initially for 1 year at 100% time, with a
1 year reappointment dependent on satisfactory progress and
availability of continued funding.  Generous health benefits are
included.  Applicants require a Ph.D. degree in microbiology, plant
biology, molecular biology, or a related field. Experience in
recombinant techniques is required. Some expertise in microarray
analyses is desired, but not essential. Send a curriculum vitae and
the names and addresses of three references to Dr. Michael Sadowsky,
The Department of Soil, Water, & Climate, and The BioTechnology
Institute, University of Minnesota, 439 Borlaug Hall, 1991 Upper
Buford Circle, St. Paul, Minnesota 55108. Phone: (612) 624-2706; FAX
