Hi,
I coordinate a volunteer beach water quality monitoring program for the
Surfrider Foundation. I'm in the process of preparing a 'starter kit' for
chapters that are considering starting water testing that has very basic
information on what is involved, methods, costs, etc....
I would like to include a fact sheet to explain why we test for indicator
bacteria and what the data might mean. Before I write up my own, I thought
I would check and see if anyone has any that they could recommend to me. I
like the information posted at URI's Watershed Watch website
http://www.uri.edu/ce/wq/ww/Publications/Bacteria.pdf
But it was written before the state started using the Entercoccus std.
Does anyone know of any fact sheets/hand outs that might fit the bill? Most
of our chapters are concerned with marine beach water quality and storm
drains that discharge onto beaches.
Thanks,
Mara Dias
