   U.S. EPA Region 5, State, and Tribal water monitoring and standards
   staff invite you to attend the 2009 Surface Water Monitoring and
   Standards (SWiMS) meeting February 10-12 in Chicago. The SWiMS
   meeting is an annual State/Tribal/EPA technical coordinators meeting
   aimed at sharing monitoring/standards successes and challenges,
   learning about up-to-date scientific information, and discussing
   programmatic issues.

   General Information:  The meeting will cover a wide range of
   monitoring, standards, and assessment topics including issues related
   to mussels, human health monitoring and standards issues, Monitoring
   Coordination with Other Programs – Showing Success, anti-degradation,
   national/state probability surveys and others.  Each session will
   include 2-3 speakers presenting different scientific, technical,
   and/or policy-related issues.  While the meeting is aimed at States
   and Tribes, federal agencies, the regulated community, academics,
   environmental organizations, and others are encouraged to attend.

   Additional information and a more complete agenda will be available

   the website contains presentations from our 2008 meeting.

   Special Note:  Please remember, a few meetings are being held in
   conjunction with SWiMS.  Please check with the EPA contact regarding
   dates/times for those meetings.

   Registration: There is no registration fee to attend the SWiMS
   meeting.
