I just learned about a Watershed Conference to be held in Kalamazoo next week.
It’s called “Great Lakes Watersheds Management: Tools for County & Local
Governments”, sponsored by national Association of Counties among others. It is
on October 17 & 18 at the Radisson Hotel in Kalamazoo. EPA Assistant
Administrator Robert Perciasepe and Congressman Fred Upton (R-St. Joseph) will
be speaking on the 17th. Topics include watershed dynamics, carrying capacity,
impacts, zoning, watershed management tools, and case studies. Cost is only
$45!!! and includes 2 lunches, materials, and receptions! As of 3 PM Friday,
the had about 100 registrations, but are hoping to double that. For more
information on registration, call Abby Friedman at (202) 942 4225.
