Come have fun, take a nice bike ride, and raise funds for
grass-roots environmental education and activism at the Ecology Center's
26th annual Bike-a-Thon on Sunday, June 8.
You can ride any of three routes of 12, 28, and 57 miles long each,
beginning and ending at West Park in Ann Arbor. Each route takes riders on
picturesque tours along the Huron River. There are great food and rest
areas at checkpoints along the way. At the finish line, riders are
welcomed with more food, Ben & Jerry's Peace Pops, massage tables, and
music. There is free parking available at the Ashley/Ann Streets parking
structure, and also on neighboring streets.
Here's how to participate. You can pay a registration fee this
year or you can collect pledge sponsors based on the number of miles you
plan to ride. There are incentive prizes for turning in larger amounts of
pledges, and grand prizes for the top adult, youth, and team
pledge-getters. You can download and print the "brochure" below, and use
it to register or collect pledges. Or, request a hard copy of the brochure
at email@example.com or (313) 761-3186.
The Ecology Center is a regional nonprofit environmental
organization based in Ann Arbor working for clean air, safe water, healthy
communities, and environmental justice. The Center is the parent
organization of Recycle Ann Arbor.
