E-M:/ High ozone yesterday (Wednesday)....

Enviro-Mich message from asagady@sojourn.com

Just to show that what goes on in Washington DC affects us
right here in Michigan, ozone monitoring sites at Ludington,
Lansing and Rose Lake (Clinton County) would have had
excursions of the EPA' s proposed 0.08 ppm 8 hour ozone health standard
yesterday (Wednesday) with some near misses at Algonac
in SE Michigan and at Muskegon, if the standard had been in effect.....

Several other sites would have exceeded the 0.07 ppm
8 hour proposed standard supported by the American Lung Association.....

...And this was just with some mild 85 degree weather and light
winds... ...and no ozone alerts and no "ozone action days".....

Meanwhile, National Public Radio reports this morning that the White House will
decide the new air standard issue in 3 days...... with Clinton's
White House Economic Advisors weighing in heavily on what is
good for your lungs while Al Gore focuses on damage control on
temple fundraising...
