E-M:/ Insatiable Thirst Broadcast

Enviro-Mich message from "David C. Hammond" <dchammon@umich.edu>

This Wednesday (June 25th), "Insatiable Thirst: Groundwater and the
Crisis of Development" will be able to be viewed throughout much of
southern lower Michigan on three different public television stations.

The show is a 30-min documentary examining the impacts of commercial and
residential development on MI's groundwater quality. As much of you know,
almost 50% of Michigan residents rely on groundwater as the sole source of
their drinking water. But our patterns of growth, particularly suburban
sprawl, are putting that groundwater at risk.

Wednesday, June 25th-
In the Grand Rapids area, the show can be seen at 9pm on WGVU, channel 35.
In the Kalamazoo area, you can see the show at 9pm on WGVK, channel 52, or
if you are in the Flint/Ann Arbor/Detroit area you can see the show on
WFUM, channel 28 at 10:30pm.

These channel numbers are the UHF channels, check your local cable system
for the corresponding cable channel. The show is produced in cooperation
with Michigan Public Television, WFUM-TV, and the Great Lakes Radio
Consortium. It is funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.

Also, because you are the public in public television, it's critically
important for you to give us your feedback. Tell us what you like, what
you don't like, if you would like more of this type of environmental
coverage, how you would do it differently, and if this documentary is an
important use of your money. Any and all feedback is appreciated.
