E-M:/ Ozone Episode on Sunday in Michigan

Michigan had an ozone/smog episode on Sunday...

Although no excursions of the current 0.12 ppm 1 hour average
were noted, Muskegon and Coloma came close.

Ozone was considerably worse in Wisconsin with several
sites downwind of Chicago having violations of the 0.12 ppm
1 hour average limit.

On Sunday, the following Michigan sites
would have had excursions over the proposed, new
ozone/smog standard of 0.08 ppm, 8 hour average:

WESTERN MICHIGAN

Muskegon
Holland
Coloma
Jenison
Grand Rapids
Ludington
Frankfort

EASTERN MICHIGAN

Lansing
Flint
Otisville
Harbor Beach
New Haven
Warren

Some of the sites on the northern half of Lake Michigan have
the longest times of unhealthy ozone exposure (greater than
8-9 hours)

This is analysis from the Sierra Club Mackinac Chapter.
