There will be a luncheon meeting on the relicensing of hydroelectric
projects on the AuSable, Manistee, and Muskegon rivers ON TUESDAY,
SEPTEMBER 16,  FROM NOON TO 2:30 PM, AT THE HARLEY HOTEL IN GRAND RAPIDS
(4041 Cascade Road, S.E.).

Speakers will be Jim Bernier, Senior Natural Resources Manager, Consumers
Energy Company and Kyle Kruger, Michigan Department of Natural Resources,
Fisheries Division.

The event is sponsored by the Michigan State Section of the American Water
Resources Association.  

Reservations must be received by Wednesday, September 10, and they can be
made by sending a check for $13.50 (payable to Michigan AWRA) to Mike
Solomon, Huron Manistee National Forests, 1755 S. Mitchell, Cadillac, MI
49601.

This will be an informative presentation on the major settlement provisions
including hydroelectric operation restrictions to protect downstream
fishery habitats and to avoid erosion, as well as a look at the funding for
recreation and wildlife habitat enhancement.
