URGENT!! Clean Air Activists--WE NEED YOUR HELP

On October 1, 1997, the House Commerce Committee's Health and
Environment Subcomittee is holding a hearing on the implementation of
the new ozone and fine particle standards.

The panel will consist primarily of local elected officials who oppose
the standards. The Clean Air Network is calling on all elected
officials who have expressed support for the standards to reiterate
their support in the form of a letter that we can share with
subcommittee members prior to the hearing.

Please address the letter of support to:

Representatives Upton, Stupak
House of Representatives, Washington, DC 20515.

And fax the letters to Felice Stadler, Clean Air Network, 202-289-1060
by SEPTEMBER 29, 1997.

Call if you have questions--202-289-2403. And thanks in advance for
your help with this.

Felice Stadler
