An exciting conference for anyone who wants more
bikeable and walkable communities is coming to
East Lansing on November 19-20. The Tri-County Regional
Planning Commission, with support from MDOT and
other agencies, will be hosting a "Walkable Communities"
seminar led by Dan Burden at the MSU Student Union
Parlor Suite A&B, 2nd Floor.

The two-day seminar will cost $60 with course
materials and lunch included. In conjunction with
the short course, the City of East Lansing has
retained Dan to work with them on an assessment of
bike/ped accessibility, traffic calming and a
walkability audit for an additional three days during
that week.

Dan has been involved in government and non-profit
organizations that develop/promote and evaluate alternative
transportation and sustainable communities for more
than 25 years. He specializes in transportation and
land use planning and research and implementation of
biking and walking. He founded and has led Bikecentennial,
Bicycle Federation of America and Bicycle Forum magazine.
He writes well, speaks well and presents his material so
that it is meaningful and useful for citizens, advocates,
traffic engineers, planners and policy makers.

For additional information or to obtain registration
materials, call the Tri-County Regional Planning
Commission at (517)393-0342.
