About the River Raisin Watershed Assessment...this is part of an effort by
MDNR Fisheries Division to compile existing information into watershed
assessments for every major river system in the State. The reports are
first presented as drafts, including management options. Following public
review and comment, they'll respond to comments and potentially revise the
assessment. It's then intended to guide Fisheries Division activities in
the Raisin Basin. Ultimately, a fisheries management plan will also be
developed if all goes according to plan.

Fisheries Division developed a similar assessment for the Huron and other
rivers a few years ago. We've relied upon it quite heavily for doing our
own strategic planning. In the Huron case, they did an excellent job of
pulling together info from a variety of sources and pulling it together with
an ecosystem perspective.
