Enviro-Mich message from asagady@sojourn.com

This from the Environmental Journalism page at the
Michigan State University School of Journalism.... just posted....

Environmental Reporter

The Times Herald, a Gannett newspaper in Port Huron, Michigan has an immediate
opening for an environmental reporter. Gary Miles, the paper's city editor,
said this
is a valued beat at the paper and that the person hired can "pretty well set
their own
agenda" on what to write about. The paper's daily circulation is 32,000 and
its Sunday
circulation is 42,000. The Michigan Press Association named The Times Herald
"newspaper of the year" in the paper's circulation category in 1997. Port
Huron is
located on Lake Huron and is on the Canadian border. It is about 75 miles
northeast of
Detroit. If interested, call Gary Miles at 810-989-6257 or send him a fax at

...sounds like a good opportunity to write about the Kettlewell landfill,
air pollution from Sarnia, NAFTA transportation issues, Lake Huron, etc.
