Michael Hansen has a Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the
University of Michigan. He is a Research Associate at the Consumer Policy
Institute, Consumer Union, the larger consumer organization in the US.
Over the last 10 years he has been doing research and policy work in the
areas of alternative to pesticides, biotechnology and genetically
engineered food, and transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (i.e. mad
cow disease).
