Joe Scrimger is nationally known for his understanding of soil biology. He
has lectured extensively throughout the Midwest on the natural processes and
balances that insure soil health, plant health and human health. He was a
contributor to Michigan Field Crop Ecology , a major research bulletin
recently produced under the leadership of Dr. Richard Harwood and published
by MSU Extension. Joe has been farming organically for over twenty years and
runs Bio-Systems, a soil testing and consulting service in Marlette, MI. He
has been a spokesperson for organic farming throughout the state and is a
proponent of locally- and ecologically-based food and farming systems.

Growing In Place Community Farm is a CSA (community supported agriculture)
now in its third growing season. Come tour the gardens, view the many works
in progress and learn more about the CSA concept from GIP share members.
