"Nuclear Madness: Now It's in Your Food"
Monday, June 29, 7:00-8:30 p.m.
Courthouse Square Apartments
(corner of Fourth Ave. and Huron, in Ann Arbor)

Steve McCargar, former staff coordinator of the Ecology Center of Ann
Arbor, will introduce a brief history of food irradiation and offer ideas
about how citizen activists could effectively respond to this issue.
Currently Co-Manager of the Oneota Co-op in Decorah, Iowa, Steve has worked
throughout the midwest since 1988 as a volunteer speaker on behalf of Food
and Water,a Vermont-based public interest group.  The Ecology Center of Ann
Arbor and the People's Food Co-op are co-sponsoring this event.  Admission
is free.  If you plan to attend, please call Jan at 734-769=0095 or email
at pfc@izzy.net to let the Coop know how many people to expect.

People's Food Co-op is a community-owned natural foods grocery located at
216 N. 4th Avenue (near Kerrytown).  The Ecology Center is a regional
environmental organization working for clean air, safe water, and healthy
communities in Ann Arbor and southeast Michigan.
