Right on, Karen!

It's important to consider that we are _rapidly_ losing our sanctuaries of
"commercial-free space" and camping in state parks is supposed to be one of
them (like public tv used to be).

[Oakland University, here in Rochester, recently put up a sign on the corner
of campus (which advertises Pepsi, Target Stores, and Airtouch Cellular,
along with campus events), so it's becoming clear that universities are no
longer limiting crass commercialism to their sports departments and Nike.
So I guess we lost universities.]

Where does one go to escape the constant commercial message?

Backlash toward the advertisers is probably more effective than blaming the
cash-starved parks.

But any boycott better have recipies for alternative campfire desserts, or
the taste buds will win it for the commercialism side.
