OTSEGO - The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality is seeking help from
people with any information about three Allegan County landfills containing
hazardous waste.
The information could help officials at the state's Environmental Response
Division in Otsego identify companies that generated waste found in the
landfills. And, if the companies agree to cover cleanup costs, the information
could save taxpayers millions of dollars, state officials say.

About 900 students walked into Chelsea's new $27 million high school today, an
example of the area's spreading residential growth.
Crowding is a familiar theme for school districts north and west of Ann Arbor
in general. The Pinckney and Dexter school districts plan to open their own
