E-M:/ Litigation against Coast Guard on Battery Dumping

Enviro-Mich message from "Alex J. Sagady & Associates" <ajs@sagady.com>

Today's New York Times has an article about a national
lawsuit against the Coast Guard concerning their past practices
of dumping lead-acid and other batteries into lakes, rivers
and streams.

If my middle-aged memory is correct, I think this may have been
an issue in Michigan....I think in Charlevoix.... perhaps elsewhere.
If EM'ers know of this past practice in Michigan, please post further
