The State Senate Hunting and Fishing Committee today approved 5-0 a bill
(S.B. 1283) to legalize the taking of raptors from the wild in Michigan for
purposes of falconry.  This bill has long been opposed by the Michigan
Audubon Society but has the support of the DNR and Michigan Hawking Club.
Persons interested in expressing views about this bill should contact State
Senators before a floor vote next week.
