E-M:/ Get rid of the Riders!

Enviro-Mich message from Frank Ambrose <snakeman@expert.cc.purdue.edu>

Please call your Michigan representative and urge them to sign on to the
Hinchey Letter.

Stabenow, Rivers, Conyers, Dingell, Killdee, et al. should be easy to get
to sign on. A simple ask is often all it will take. Be sure to play up
the fact that Gephardt and Bonior are already signees.

For questions on the depth and breadth of these riders, please call me at

House Sign-On Letter to Administration Opposes Riders
A letter signed by House Democrats will be sent to President
Clinton early next week asking the President to, "...hold firm in your
opposition to anti-environmental riders, and carry out your promise to
veto appropriations bills if these objectionable riders remain in them."
The letter is being championed by Rep. Maurice Hinchey (D-NY),
House Minority Leader Dick Gephardt (D-MO), Whip David Bonior
(D-MI) and environmental leaders Reps. Henry Waxman (D-CA),
George Miller (D-CA), Elizabeth Furse (D-OR) and Frank Pallone, Jr.

Please contact your Representative if they are a Democrat at
202/225-3121 and urge him/her to sign-on to the Hinchey letter
opposing anti-environmental riders.
