E-M:/ more green tax bills

Enviro-Mich message from Dave Dempsey <davemec@voyager.net>

The House Tax Policy Committee today approved two more bills to green
Michigan's tax code. The bills, HB 6050 and 6051, would provide sales and
use tax exemptions for purchasers of alternative-fueled vehicles. These
are the last bills the committee will report until November. Unresolved
issues from the Committee's green tax agenda include HB 6026, providing a
property tax exemption for farmland and open space lands, HB 6048,
providing an SBT credit for developers who pay for infrastructure
improvements associated with their projects, HB 6049, providing an SBT
credit for energy efficiency, and HB 6052, creating an SBT credit for
pollution prevention activities.
