The Kalamazoo Environmental Council is sponoring two candidate forums on
environmental issues for Kalamazoo County candidates.   Often political forums
do not focus on the environment - these events will give citizens an
opportunity to ask questions and learn the environmental positions of

State House and Senate, and US House Candidates. Thursday, Oct. 15  
7:30 to 9:30 pm at KVCC (Texas Township Campus), Room 4310. Candidates for
three state representative and one state senate races will be included.
Although State Senator Dale Shugars declined the invitation, his opponent,
Kristi Carambula, will be present to answer questions reqarding her
environmental positions.  US House Representative Fred Upton also declined the
invitation; two of his opponents, Clare Annen and Ken Asmus will be present.
In the other state races, the following candidates will be present:  Ed
LaForge/Gloria Ham, Chuck Perricon/Bob Goodwin, and Tom Cook/ Jerry Vander

Kalamazoo County Commissioner Candidates.  Thursday, Oct. 22
7 to 9:15 pm at KVCC (Texas Township Campus), Room 4310.   All candidates for
Kalamazoo County Commission have been invited.  This is your best opportunity
to express concern about local environment issues.  

Both sessions will be videoed by Cable Access.
