Public invited!
Fall meeting of the Michigan Natural Areas Council
Sunday November 1, 1998 2:00 P.M.
University of Michigan Matthaei Botanical Gardens Auditorium
1800 North Dixboro Rd., Ann Arbor, Michigan

Ellen Weatherbee, adult education coordinator and Brian Klatt
associate director, both of the University of Michigan Matthaei
Botanical Gardens have recently been part of a Michigan Natural Areas
Council reconnaissance committee chaired by Tony Reznicek to update
old field reviews of the Redrick Forest and Fen complex on the east
side of Flemming Creek between the Matthaei Botanical Gardens public
trails and the University golf course. The area, closed to the public
except by guided tours, has long been used for university teaching and
research. Ellen and Brian will describe this important natural area and
discuss future plans for its care and use. After the lecture there will
be a short field trip to the area.
