We're on the lookout for a couple of development positions.  Any thoughts, 
recommendations or resumes would be welcome.

Director of Development--responsible for managing, planning, implementing and 
coordinating a comprehensive development program, designed to secure the 
financial resources to support the full range of programs in Michigan.  
Responsibilities include bringing to conclusion the ongoing capital campaign 
and overseeing the chapter's annual fund and planned giving programs.  The 
position requires a team approach in working with the management team (this is 
a senior management position), regional initiatives and direct supervision of 
three development officers.  Requirements: minimum bachelor's degree in 
communications, marketing, business or related field; masters degree or 
fundraising certification preferred.  Minimum three years demonstrated 
accomplishment in upper level fundraising position including capital 
campaigns, budgeting, significant proposal development and grants management, 
and managing staff and volunteers.

Planned Giving Officer--implement a comprehensive planned giving program, 
including the development of outreach materials and opportunities; creating 
targeted events that support planned and major gifts programs; cultivation, 
solicitation and negotiation of planned and deferred gifts.  Requirements: 
bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related field.  Three years 
experience in estate planning, fundraising or major gift fundraising, 
membership programs, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
