Enviro-Mich message from "Andy Henriksen" <foannar!andy@miso.mi.nrcs.usda.gov>

A workshop entitled "Landscaping for Wildlife" is scheduled for
Saturday, January 30, 1999, 9 am, at the Campfire Restaurant, in
Milan, MI. Mark Sargent, Wildlife Biologist with the MDNR Private
Lands Office will be the speaker. This workshop is intended for
landowners with smaller suburban lots as well as those with larger
rural acreages. Sargent will be spending about three hours covering
many concepts of wildlife habitat management and improvement, with a
few hours available afterwards for personal consultation regarding
individual properties. Attendees will be provided with soils
information, maps, and aerial photos specific to their property to aid
in the planning, as well as some general reference information.

Cost for the workshop is $10 per person, which will cover materials
and a continental breakfast. This will be an excellent opportunity
for folks in SE Michigan to learn many techniques to both beautify
their property and attract wildlife. Registration deadline is Jan.
20, 1999. Space is limited, so register early.
