The Hardy Plant Society Great Lakes Chapter announces its second annual
educational conference, Michigan Native Plants for our Landscapes:
Gardening American Style, on Saturday, January 23, 1999 from 9 A.M. to 5
P.M. in Troy, Michigan. Come learn how to combine plants that can 
co-exist and thrive in natural circumstances, without excessive
maintenance and manipulation -- turning your yard into a sanctuary.
Speakers include:
     Tom Smith on landscaping with native plants, 
     Steve Katoon on native grasses and forbs, and 
     Dr. Herb Wagner, co-author of Michigan Trees, on native trees and
