Growing Smarter Workshops:  April 10, April 17 and May 1

The Land Stewardship Initiative of the Michigan Environmental Council and
the Michigan Land Use Institute are presenting three regional workshops on
smart growth in April and May.  Targeted to environmental, social justice,
faith and community activists who are fighting sprawl or healing the damage
left in its wake, the workshops will cover:

*  Tips and strategies for effective organizing and getting your message out
*  News from regional initiatives
*  Opportunities for networking with other activists
*  Briefings on legislative smart growth activities

The half-day, Saturday workshops are free of charge and
lunch is provided, but you do need to register (see information below).
For those that do, an information
package will be sent to you.

April 10--Oakland Community College, Royal Oak.   Deadline for registration
is Wednesday, April 7.

April 17--Grand Valley Blood Center, Grand Rapids. Deadline for
registration is Wednesday, April 14.

May 1--Dilworth, Boyne City.  Deadline for registration is April 28.
(PLEASE NOTE:  The Lake Charlevoix Watershed Ramble--a tour of the
watershed--will be held the afternoon of the Boyne City workshop and
requires a separate registration with a deadline of April 15.  To register
for the Ramble, please call 616-237-9335 or 616-582-5824)
