In celebration of Earth Day and National Wildlife Week (April 18-24) the National Wildlife Federation's (NWF) Great Lakes Natural Resource Center will host the 5th annual All Species Parade on Sunday, April 25, 1999.  Children dressed as their favorite plant or animal will lead the parade celebrating nature and wildlife.

All activities highlight NWF's "Keep the Wildl Alive" Campaign celebrating the 25th anniversary of the passage of our nation's premier wildlife protection law -- the Endangered Species Act.  For more information see NWF's Web site at www.nwf.org/wildalive

PARADE DETAILS:

Parade leaves from Wheeler Park (N. 4th and Depot Street)

12:00 noon meet in Wheeler Park if you would like to paint your kid's face for the parade (face paints will be available).  All other participants should arrive at 12:30pm at Wheeler Park

1:00pm Parade leaves Wheeler Park

2:00pm Grand entrance at Leslie Science Center (1831 Traver) where city-wide Earth Day Festival will be going on until 5:00pm.

2:00-2:15pm Parade costume Awards and refreshments at Leslie Science Center

2:15-5:00PM Join the Leslie Science Center's City-wide Earth Day festivities (free).  Lots of activities for the whole family.

Note: Bus service will be available from Leslie Science Center back to Wheeler Park.
