Re: T&E Species -- THanks Tamilyn for listing these -- the list you provided
is of Michigan's Federally listed species. There is also a state list,
created under the Michigan Endangered Species Act. It is available under the
DNR webpage --
http://www.dnr.state.mi.us/Wildlife/Heritage/Thr_Edn/end-list.htm

The page before the list
<http://www.dnr.state.mi.us/Wildlife/Heritage/Thr_End/default.htm
lists information about the statute, about getting information, etc.
Michigan lists over 90 species as Threatened or Endangered, and also includes
"special concern" species, and in some categories extirpated species.

A brief editorial note here -- Sierra Club disagrees with several aspects of
the newly adopted list (adopted in March), in particular the delisting of the
American (pine) marten (insufficient survey and reviews of the status of the
species was done) and the decision to drop extirpated species from the lists
of mammals (losing the listing of the woodland caribou in particular).
