Folks:
An interesting aspect of legislative processes is how much more time it often
takes to get through budgets than expected. The House Appropriations
Subcommittee on Natural Resources and Environmental Quality is holding a
marathon of meetings this week (this a.m., this afternoon, tomorrow a.m.,
tomorrow afternoon) to try to finish up the DEQ budget and to start on the DNR
Budget.
If you have not yet had your say to the members of the Subcommittee about
either the Michigan Natural Features Inventory or the mandated timber marking
levels, both in the DNR Budget (SB 370) it appears the Subcommittee may take
some initial testimony this afternoon, but will primarily begin grappling
with these issues tomorrow morning starting at 8:30 a.m. There is still time
to make a call, fax a letter or send an email message!
