Creating sustainable indicators for Michigan communities is the theme of
the July 8 Summer Inistitute, sponsored by the Michigan Partnership for
Economic Development Assistance, Center for Urban Affairs, Michigan
State University.  Two outstanding leaders in the field of
sustainability will be featured:  Scott Berstein, President of the
Center for Neighborhood Technology, will keynote and Maureen Hart, Hart
Environmental Data, will be on hand to help participants identify
community indicators of sustainability.  Leaders and professionals from
community and economic development organizations, state and local
government, neighborhood organizations, businesses, and other concerned
community leaders, activists, scholars and students should attend. 

The Summer Institute will be held at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing.
