The actual delay is 25 minutes after the previous hour's data is collected.
The difference between the collection time shown and your time is due to
daylight savings time vs. eastern standard time.

The time shown is also the start hour showing when the ozone measurements
began over that hour.

It takes us about 25 minutes to call all the monitors in the state, poll the
data, calculate the 8-hr averages, update the figures and post it to the
internet. The majority of that 25 minutes is spent dialing the various modems.

Rob,

I believe you can get what you are looking for, ozone action day forecasts
and real-time ozone data from the MDEQ website. To get the ozone action
day forecasts, go to http://www.deq.state.mi.us/aqd/eval/amu/o34cast.html.
This page tells you which upcoming days are forecast as ozone action days.
Real-time measurements for both the eight-hour and one-hour standards can
be accessed at http://www.deq.state.mi.us/aqd/eval/amu/hr8hro3.html; and,
http://www.deq.state.mi.us/aqd/eval/amu/hr1hro3.HTML.

Both the current 8-hour and 1-hour sites are posting data as of 3:00 pm
today and it is now 4:30 when I accessed the site. An hour and one-half
delay does not seem bad to me.

Let me know if I have misunderstood your request, or if these sites give
you the data you thought was unavailable.

Regards,

David
