ECONOMIC CONTRIBUTIONS AND EXPENDITURES IN THE
NATIONAL FORESTS
A report prepared by economist Karyn Moskowitz using
Forest Service data indicates that the value of
nonextractive benefits from the National Forests far
outweigh the value of extractive activities. For a
copy of the full report contact Stu Dalheim, mail to:
stu@americanlands.org or call 202/547-9400.

FOREST SERVICE DECISIONS AVAILABLE ONLINE RETRO TO '96
In response to a lawsuit, the Forest Service began
placing its decisions, retroactive to November 1996,
on the Internet on June 30.
Gaining access to previous agency decisions will give
citizens an advantage in appealing the agencies'
ability to cite precedent. The Forest Service's
"electronic reading room" is at

http://www.fs.fed.us/im/foia/opinions/

The BLM's is at http://www.blm.gov.nhp.efoia/
